What. A. Week.

What a week it has been!

Last Saturday I joined my fellow TNT ‘mates for a 10 mile run through the Belmont area of Nashville in 95% humidity.  You read that right…95%.  It was treacherous.  The best parts were definitely: Finishing. Eating a BOMB Avacado Tomato & Bacon Omelette at Sky Blue CafĂ© and drinking chocolate milk. Yummie.  The 95% humidity sorta took EVERYTHING out of me and I spent the remainder of the afternoon immobile on the couch. It was good to rest but whewwww!

Post-10 miler. Look at my HAIR!

Tuesday morning I met 2 fellow TNT ‘mates for a pre-work 6 mile run. It was great to have friends to get in a longer mid-week distance. Waking up at 4:30am to meet them at 5am wasn’t the greatest thing but definitely worth it to have the friends to run with! (By the way, I want a running headlamp like IMMEDIATELY & I still can't believe I ran a 10k before work. Like I can't believe it.) I went straight to work and straight from work to a Junior League volunteer event. I got home around 9pm EXHAUSTED.
We called this an "artistic" shot :)

Wednesday I worked a 12-hour day. Missed yoga (boo!) and got home at 9pm EXHAUSTED.

This morning I hit up a 6am yoga class, which was awesome & needed. Had a pretty great day at work and then met up with my TNT’ers for our unofficial mid-week group run. I ran a glorious 4-1/2 miles and feel great.

It’s so wicked hard to fit it all in. Let’s be honest, it just is. But getting it all in really makes a difference.  I’m gearing up for 14 miles this Saturday. Excited & Nervous but here goes nuthin’!!

Weekend Recap

This past weekend I really got myself back in the game.

Saturday morning @ TNT group run I (killed) 10 miles.  The group was running anywhere between 10-13 miles this week, but Friday night I had a real talk with myself and given my dip in training the past 2 weeks, I decided I was going to do 10 miles no matter how I felt at mile 5.  No need to be a hero.  I was running with 2 new friends (AHHH NEW FRIENDS???) chatting away and finally looked down at my phone and realized I had gone 5.18. I literally stopped mid-sentence and said “Woah, I need to turn around.” We said our goodbyes as they kept going and I trekked along back.  The humidity was a beast by the end, but getting in 10 miles makes me feel great, awesome, wonderful, stupendous & fantastic.   I was also reminded of the power behind setting 2 alarms.  Our meet time was 6am at a park about 25 minutes away.  I had one alarm (phone next to bed) set for 5:01am and another alarm across the room set for 5:07am. Well….I don’t remember the 5:01 going off and when I got out of bed to (obviously) push the 5:07 alarm back, I started processing slowly in my head, “Wait a minute – why is my alarm set for 5am? That’s weird. I’m tired.  Oh wait – WAIT – WAIT! Wake up!”  Lesson: Maybe I need 3 alarms.

I also had a great hot yoga practice yesterday afternoon after a minor meltdown earlier in the day that resulted in me calling my mom and apologizing for the fact I can be such a witch with a B sometimes. My mom is the greatest and knows when to ignore me.  Hot yoga totally reminds me to CTFD and live a happy life.

I also can BARELY move today.  Popping Motrin as we speak!
