Race Photos

Never in my LIFE have I even considered purchasing a race photo.  Sometimes, I don't even click on the link....they're [always] THAT bad.  Usually I look like someone is trying to gut me with a serrated knife.

The email with link to my Disney Princess Half Marathon photos came through last night and I decided, given how I'm going through a post-Disney depression and had the MOST FUN EVER, I'd check them out.  Boy, was I surprised!  I mean...I look positively gleeful!  In fact, I'm going to shell out the $15/picture and buy both of these!

Me & Princess Lauren after running through Cinderella's Castle. I remember this picture being taken and thinking to myself what a total FREAK I am.

Smiling & Waving?!? And I KNOW this was at least mile 11 or 12 because Epcot is behind me. I must have been drugged.....

I will admit, I'm a little bummed out the photographer didn't seem to capture all of team Princess 1983 crossing the finish line holding hands - that will just exist in my memories! ;)

It was seriously one of the BEST weekends / vacations/ races I've ever done with 3 of the best gals I could have ever asked for.  I'm looking into ways to make my professional paid job running in Disney races. More on that as I have updates.

Taper Time

Today commences my favorite thing about training. The taper.  Just finished my last "long" run training for the Disney Princess Half Marathon (7.8 miles) and now it's time to start carb & calorie loadin' up and resting!

OH! AND PACKING!!! :)

Week Recap

This past week I sucked at training.  I spent the week pulling ridiculous (Martin Agency-like) hours.  Despite all that I still planned on waking up early and going out for 10 miles, followed by breakfast at my favorite Nashville breakfast place - The Pancake Pantry. A true Nashville institution.

My alarm went off [EARLY] and I knew there was no way this was happening. So I just went to the breakfast instead.  My day was followed by a hodge-podge of things. Went to the mall (bought nothing) went to some cute boutique stores (bought a travel case for my Nook/future iPad mini) and got my haircut.

I got home and decided it was SO GORGEOUS outside I was going to go out for a walk/run. No mileage in mind, no real route in mind, just wanted to enjoy the outside.  Well,  the Zone took over. I sort of don't remember...but I ran 10 miles.  I think it's all the stress of last week just completely built up.

I kinda can't move today.  It's cool.

If you need me I'll be the one popping ibuprofen all day long.

This week started off looking so promising for my training.  Tuesday night I hit the treadmill and had a good, solid run.  I was gearing up for another good run, some cardio and then a long run tomorrow.

Then at 3am on Wednesday I was woken up by my phone alerting me that I needed to "Take Shelter" because of tornadoes.  First of all, I'm ALREADY deathly afraid of Tornadoes & moving to TN hasn't helped that.  Being woken up to tell me that I need to take shelter immediately is not the best way to start my Wednesday.  So, I sprinted to grab my flashlight, ran into the bathroom and hunkered down waiting for the storm to pass.  I was also texting every person in TN that I know.  Needless to say, I never went back to sleep so on 4 hours of sleep, I didn't work out at all on Wednesday.

The radar @ 3:30am. I'd say that's a pretty wicked storm!

This morning I woke up and it was flipping 18 degrees on my phone.  And it had snowed.  Seriously people? I can't run in 18 degrees - not even on a treadmill because that requires me to leave my bed.  They're calling for more snow tomorrow, so my plan is to take a yoga class in the morning and run/walk on Sunday to get the mileage in.

Sunny Florida can't come soon enough! :)
IT SNOWED!!! (Yes, we Tennesseeans consider this "snow")
